    KANO GOVERNMENT SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH CHINESE COMPANY ON ELECTRIC VEHICLES AND MOTORCYCLES

     

    The Kano State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Chinese company, Kodong Manufacturing Nigeria Limited. This company will assemble electric cars and motorcycles, as well as establish charging stations across the state.

     

     

    At the signing ceremony held at the company’s premises in Dansudu, Tofa Local Government Area, Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, described this development as a significant achievement for the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. He stated that the initiative would boost the state’s economy and create numerous job opportunities.

     

     

    The Deputy Governor further stated that the Kano State Government has removed all restrictions hindering business activities to create a conducive environment for investors. He noted that once the company becomes operational, it will provide nearly 2,000 direct jobs in addition to countless indirect opportunities.

    He emphasized the government’s commitment to upholding all terms of the agreement to ensure a healthy partnership between both parties. He also urged the company to prioritize the employment of residents of Dansudu, especially the youth.

    Lastly, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo called on the youth who will be employed to demonstrate honesty, integrity, and adherence to work ethics. This initiative underscores the Kano State Government’s dedication to sustainable development in the industrial and transportation sectors.
